Kalimba is the southernmost tenement of the portfolio and covers an area of 1,040 hectares. The company secured the tenement through an earn-in with the local Chief and community. Sable Ridge Metals holds an 85% interest in the Kalimba Project.

The tenement hosts significant LCT pegmatites rich in lithium-bearing minerals including montebrasite and lepidolite. Rock-chip sampling has returned grades of up to 8.5% Li₂O. The pegmatite-bearing zone is roughly 1 km wide with more than 2 km of strike and remains open in all directions.

Kalimba also has high-grade tin at the Kalimba West Tin Field, where concentrate samples averaged 21.7% Sn, 19.4% Ta and 10.2% Nb. In 2025 the project was granted a ten-year mining licence, following environmental approval the previous year.

Why pegmatites carry so much

LCT (lithium–caesium–tantalum) pegmatites are the last, most chemically evolved fraction of a granite melt. As the magma cools, the elements that don't fit ordinary minerals — lithium, tin, tantalum, niobium — concentrate into these coarse-grained dykes.

In the Mwenda Belt the dykes intrude a metamorphic gneiss basement and weather out at surface, which is why artisanal miners have been able to work them by hand since the 1930s — and why modern sampling can test grade without drilling first.
